Meet Elena

My name is Elena Tregnaghi, and I’m an Italian photographer specializing in evocative, thought-provoking imagery tailored for thriller and psychological book covers. My work explores the intersection of symbolism, storytelling, and emotion; drawing inspiration from the darker corners of the imagination, I transform everyday objects into visual metaphors, making my images the perfect fit for gripping thrillers. I particularly enjoy playing with contrasts — both in color and meaning — combining elements to create pictures that spark curiosity and draw readers into a world of mystery.

My photographs can be licensed exclusively through Arcangel Images, one of the most reputable agencies in the book cover industry. This collaboration allows me to connect with authors and publishers seeking unique, high-impact art to bring their stories to life.

Beyond photography, I’m a literary translator and 19th-century literature enthusiast, having translated and edited works such as Mary Shelley’s Falkner [Il segreto di Falkner] for the first time into Italian.

When I’m not immersed in creative projects, you’ll likely find me listening to Oasis on repeat, binge-watching my favorite TV series, or spending quality time with those I love — including my cats.
